can anyone comment on this book ? i really enjoyed sean mayes book, so am wondering if it's worth getting it. i noticed it's not available in the US on amazon ...

I recommend it - a very good read, it's great to have the insider perspective on some pre Space Oddity times, and a lot of background / behind the scenes detail relating to the 1973 tour.

I think Bowie for all his success felt knocked hard by his lack of success up to Space Oddity, which affected his ability to face Hutch years on...I doubt he blamed him so much as was reminded of a difficult time for him.

I think this book will be worth your while seeking out.
