Hello guys,

Since some time I am trying to find out the complete audience tape for Long Beach 1973 show and there's no sign of it, at least on freely available sources. The All American Bowie reveals only several songs from the show and My Radio Sweetheart broadcast adding only four songs that haven't been released on LP. Anyway, it still isn't a complete show as it misses John I'm Only Dancing, Jean Genie, Space Oddity, Starman and Rock N Roll Suicide.

Since the whole concert was taped and then simultaneously released on LP, there must be a complete version of this show somewhere.

Any idea where I have to look for it?

Thx,
Paul

Close to holy grail there.  Someone must have it, but they're not sticking their head above the parapet...

Don't blame me, I didn't do it!

I found this lossy sourced bootleg over the archive.org vaults, so it does exist:

https://archive.org/details/d_Bowie_Long_Beach_CA_03-10-73

It does contain all the missing tracks.

I am now more than keen to find a loseless version. The quality varies but it is less bright than LP and radio broadcast so again, lower gen must be in circulation somewhere.

Hmm, just found this when I did a search: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxzLBR-jSTA.  Wonder if it's started trickling though...  Anyone any good at YouTube captures?

Please find the comment of the original taper in my upload here:

https://www.bowiestation.com/torrents-details.php?id=168

So it would be a kind of a miracle if a copy of the original tape still would exist

'My' version ...

https://we.tl/jq220A0e8Q

The running order of first 13 tracks is different from learm's share, no idea why.
I've 'attached' Rock N Roll Suicide to my version.

I had a listen to the YT link again. R'n'R Suicide is certainly from another source and for me it is unlikely that it is from the Long Beach show.
The running order is not clear and I only guessed it when doing my preparation for the torrent.

RnRS might be from another show, its kind of strange to have only one song from another source (what happened to the other songs of this source...)

I have a rip of the vinyl from MWP days if it is of any help (The "Long Five Years" version) as well as a comp of "My Radio Sweetheart" and "All American Bowie" (in tweaked & raw original versions) as well as an unknown vinyl rip with everything in one long file.
I can upload this later if it will be of any help?

Sorry for being late, my friend.

That would be great if you can do this.

I'll get this all arranged then.
The hardest part will be preparing it to the standards for here (far better & higher than some places) as it is literally a raw dump - one file per side, plus another folder set with original rip plus a tweaked version and I will also write a new info file to try & sort out the lineage & sources of all this. I kinda inherited an HDD off someone who went off to be a hippy in Goa, and gave me his bootleg stash before leaving. Which reminds me - I have a box full of cassette shows as well.
Must list those & see what is here already

It may take me a few days but I will get this sorted out - almost at the end of the massive workload we had all spring/summer/autumn.

If you can, please send raw version, without any kind of mastering. I got an access to a professional recording studio, where my friend's working and he can do miracles with the sound.

I would be also interested what kind of cassettes you have. I have legendary Nakamichi monster tape deck so I can help you with transferring them if you can.

Thx for your help anyway :).

Paul, can you drop me a PM with an email address?
The vinyl version is only 45:30 runtime though (this is a raw transfer apparently in CD resolution).
Tracklisting is unknown as is the quality at this point.

I also have 2 other versions:
1 - My Radio Sweetheart/All American Bowie comp (incomplete, as are they all) with 10 tracks plus intro. No R&RS here, but both versions here have issues, and the version I have here is a "raw" one & a "remastered" one (although not by me)
Aladdin Sane comes in on MG's solo.
Tracklisting
01 Intro
02 Hang On To Yourself
03 Ziggy Stardust
04 Changes
05 Moonage Daydream
06 Watch That Man
07 Panic In Detroit
08 Five Years
09 Aladdin Sane (comes in on Garson's solo)
10 My Death
11 Width Of A Circle
12 Time
13 Suffragette City

2 - Long Five Years (again with speed issues it says in the text files) but with 14 tracks including the intro. This adds R&RS but again I suspect the same source tapes as the version of AS also comes in on the piano solo. Claimed run time is 68 minutes here and the tracklisting is as follows:
01.The Ode To Joy
02.Hang On To Yourself
03.Ziggy Stardust
04.Changes
05.Moonage Daydream
06.Panic In Detroit
07.Watch That Man
08.Aladdin Sane
09.My Death
10.The Width Of A Circle
11.Time
12.Five Years
13.Suffragette City
14.Rock 'n' Roll Suicide

I've just listened to three different versions I have on my hard drive and Hang on to your self varies from 2mins 36 seconds to 2:49 the middle one was 2:46.
So what should be the exact time?? from the opening bar to the final bar ?? anybody like to have a guess.

I noticed that only one version is available on this site, I will put up the LONG FIVE YEARS version with RnR Suicide if I can sort out the speed issues.
