Finally got round to buying ANCIANT (was somewhat reticent since all it really offered were the missing songs on Stage).

But isn't there still a missing song on Stage - where's Rock'n'Roll Suicide?  It was certainly played at least as late as Detroit, so one would imagine that it was present for at least one of the concerts used for Stage.  It would also be good to get an official release of the song.

Anyone know why it may have been excluded?  Poor recordings/versions??

Oh! are you sure on that, its not on any of the tapes from Ottawa,was it just a throway comment...its not mentioned in any of the reviews,nor in any books etc.....dont forget "when i live my dream" played once in Essen.

30 years ago while in Canada i bought a  vinyl  called Live in Stockholm 79 .(wich is no other then Gothenburg 78 i found out years later) on the set list Secret life of Arabia was the first song... I think he only played on the Glass Spider tour..

Unfortunately the bonus tracks on Stage 2017 leave a little to be desired. There is a definite shift in quality between those and the tracks from the original album, which for me spoils the flow of the album.

As for R&R Suicide, it was definitely still being performed during the time span of the gigs that make up the album, but to be honest, I don't particularly think his performance of the song on the 78 tour was completely up to scratch. He got a little shouty without any pathos towards the end of the song. Maybe that's why it was not considered as a bonus track.

Looks safe to assume that Secret Life Of Arabia was simply a typo, and should have been Art Decade.  Usual thing with these - once it's written once, it gets incorrectly copied a load of times.

My copy of Essen's got When I Live My Dream - lovely version.  David slipping in those few words from the German version's a nice touch - though I do think Simon House goes a bit over the top towards the end...
