im a fan of the 1.outside album and just found out the rehearsals of it (The Leon Tapes) were torrented here.. amazing.. thank you for sharing..

Leon isn't rehearsals for Outside.Leon is a finished album that was never released. thanks to the Record Company.  If it was released, Outside would never have happened.

yes i know, but doesnt make me less excited about it :)) happy we got both now :)

Hello. Like some others here, I think I found the website name via a torrent on Traders Den.

Found a reference to 'Mindwarp Pavilion' and when I searched for it, the trail led me to here...

I think it is a brilliant site. I'm not really a computer geek and downloaded transmission on a whim to see if I could get these amazing gigs. What does worry me though is seeing that someone posted about their ratio being low and being banned. So how does this work ? Are we supposed to upload stuff or whatever ? I don't really understand the leeching and all the jargon. Can someone explain and if I can help I will happily do so.

Sorry, I should have added that a friend sent me a link to the St Louis 'Outside' gig, and that's how I found the site. I registered and haven't looked back since.

A torrent site is based on users downloading and seeding. When you download a torrent, you download it from other user(s). When you leave your torrent client running also after completing the download, you let others download the same concert from you. If no one seeds back, there would be no one to download from.

Currently there is no forced ratio, but if we get problems with "hit and runners" (downloading and not seeding back) then we have to introduce a ratio.

Ah, so that is how it works. Thanks for the explanation Admin. Now I understand. I admit I was closing mine as I didn't know that is how it worked. Of course from now on I'll leave it open until I shut down at the end of the day.

I found it just surfing the net.

I have never downloaded a torrent because most of my friends told me it is too dangerous that you get mail from lawyers.

That will work ok for a new torrent. If you download an old torrent with no leechers on it other than you then there's no point in leaving the torrent client seeding as there's no -one else for you to seed to. What I do with the old ones (and old can mean something that is only a day or two old) is to leave it seeding for as long as possible until there has been 0 leechers shown on it for a number of days/weeks. Sometimes you'll get new members joining and they'll want to download the old torrents so this is one way in which you can help your ratio.

Hope this helps.

(Mainly) urban legend. Lawyers letters usually get sent to people who host collections of copyrighted material although some artists (such as King Crimson/Robert Fripp) insist that all of their work is taken down, copyrighted work and live recordings. I do believe though that lawyers letters have been sent to individuals but I have only seen these in connection with copyrighted films and TV programmes, not audience/soundboard recordings.

BS takes great care to try and ensure that anything that this site shows is non official copyrighted material. If anything is found that is copyrighted then it is removed.

Up to you, of course, as to what you want to do here but I've been d/l for a number of years now and ensure that what I download is taken from responsible sites such as this one.

Hope this helps ease your fears.

MBF is right, but I would also like to say that there is nothing illegal with torrents itself. Torrents are the technology used for many illegal sites, but is also used by legal sites. E.g. all versions of Linux is distributed with torrents and also some TV companies (NRK in Norway) use torrents.

The technology is legal, but the contents might be illegal.

As MBF said, if you download the biggest movies or the most popular officially released CDs you might get in trouble, but I have never heard of anyone getting into trouble due to unreleased music downloaded from sites like Bowie Station, Dime, TTD or former sites (MWP, SJ, HC...)

Got the site address from the text file in the Leon set which I downloaded from a blog site, thanks for that one too!

Would you happen to know what site?

Yeah, Dark Circle Room; http://darkcircleroom4.blogspot.co.uk/

It's mainly a Sisters Of Mercy boot site but he puts up various other things and the Leon set was one of them after DB's death.

marksach, when you download a torrent (especially with your ratio right now)
Do Not delete it after you have it on your HD.
Keep your BT Client open when you can and just leave your download active and someone
Will grab it again and your ratio will rise and you can then download more music without
any problems.
IE: about 2 weeks ago I downloaded the Bowie in Montreux DVD,there was no other leechers and
I knew from experience of many years of P2P from sites like Savage Jar, MWP,Dime, Traders Dan etc
that my ratio was going to take a Big Hit but I had a good enough amount to cope with it and so
I left the client open even though (like now on other Bowie torrents)no one was wanting it, I
think it took a week or more before others wanted that DVD now I have a ratio of 1.585 on that DVD.
My advise to you would be look through the torrents on here and choose one with hopefully 1 and not many more seeders but Lots of Leechers and hop on that and grab it then leave it there but under
No curcumstances Do Not attempt any video Footage or you have a minus Ratio and you dont want that
Mate.
Wait for that one that you "Need" until you reach more than 1 ratio before you do. :-)
I hope this I admit longwinded post helps you Mate. :-)

Peace,
Andrew.

Talking about P2P and illegal or not, over here in the UK many sites and getting blocked
now including access to TOR.
I Love a Lot of styles of music and bands besides my first Love David Bowie, I Love Jam Bands
like Grateful Dead, Moe. Phish (Older Phish really) and Govt Mule, now there is a torrent
site for these one being Etree and about a month or so ago I went to log on to Etree and found
I couldnt, I tried a few times but no luck so I asked friends in France and America to check for me and its still up and active but is but for some unknown and stupid reason banned in the UK.
Etree Only hosts Live music torrents of Bands that are Taper Friendly and who allow tapers
to record at their shows!!!!
I could understand if the Stupid powers to be here wanted to block sites like this or Dime etc
as they all host stealth recordings but Etree recordings are made with the artists Knowledge.
I would Love to know from anyone why it has been blocked, does anyone on here have any idea
why they would do this Guys?

Peace,
Andrew.

I would have guessed I followed up on a reference accompanying an upload over at Dimeadozen, but looking at how many others are citing Trader's Den, it was probably there.
