I've been here a few days, I guess it's time to say hello!

I was just reading through all of  the posts on some of the threads, like the "rate Bowie's albums" thread... and am so glad I found this community! I haven't really introduced myself but my name is Jeremy and I've loved Bowie since I was a kid in the 70s.

Bowie being gone has really sucked. I think it caught us all off guard, and seeing how it has affected the world, how loved he was - was amazing and I'm sure wherever he is his mind was blown....

I think his passing was different than any other musician, he was so different - there is something about his music that is very personal for everyone - whichever of his recordings you personally resonated with, it's like the soundtrack for your life and internal feelings/emotions so it feels like you lost a friend, family or something. Normally when people talk that way about pop stars I want to roll my eyes, but Bowie was different, wasn't he?

Beyond the music he was intelligent and discerning, artful - and behind it all was the intense, intelligent, kind man. I really feel bad for his family and daughter.

IN all of his music I hear different phases of my life - like "The Man Who Sold The World" I discovered in 1990, just out of high school - had loved other Bowie albums, but had never heard that one - Black Country Rock, Savior Machine...it all blew me away - and from there I discovered all of the rest I hadn't heard.

I had kinda given up on him after Tin Machine...But one day in 1995 my girlfriend at the time gave me Outside....and it blew my mind - it became the soundtrack for my life at a very dark time where I was addicted to speedballs - fortunately that didn't last long, and the album stayed with me as I cleaned up and to this day it's one of my favorite albums..

I hope we see Eno revisit it - and that more gets released. I have some demos, etc....but I know there's more stuff.

Yes... Welcome and

what you have stated is what so many have "experienced" and the "feelings" that each of us have about David and his music.

Thankfully we have it all for the rest of our lives, and others will also into the future...
