Hi All.
I'm a sound mixer with a background from touring all round UK/Europe/World where I started in the 1980's as monitor mixer before graduating to front of house where I was touring until late 1999 when I managed to damage my spine whilst on tour in the US, being flown home the following day.
This led to moving into the studio, and we set up our own little place in 2000 doing mixing & mastering when I was introduced to surround sound. This led me to vintage Quad, as there was even then very little 5.1 being released and the next obvious step was learning how to put this stuff onto disc so we added DVD authoring (and later Blu-ray) to our roster.
We've never really looked back, and things are getting busier all the time these days with lots of really good stuff happening (we are currently working with several labels remixing classic albums from the multitracks as well as new artists & releases and putting the results onto disc when done).
If anyone is interested, our website is at www.opusproductions.com

I've been a life-long Bowie fan & collector and feel both privileged as well as being very happy to be involved here and intend to do the very best I can for all - if anyone needs anything please just ask.

I'll try to get a spreadsheet together with the stuff I have available although this may take a while as my office skills are frankly piss poor pathetic (Hey, I'm a sound engineer, not a typist) so please bear with me whilst I get it all done.

Welcome Neil.

Glad to have someone of your ilk here. I'm sure you'll come across many people you already know from MWP, and other places.
Very happy to have you.

Indeed, most welcome Neil. Thanks for your inputs so far, they've been very helpful. Happy to help with any spreadsheet work you may need as I'm currently doing something for Jan Erik (which I'm running late on, sorry JE!).

Hi Neil, I can only repeat what JimmySchelter said (after your "coming-out";): very interesting!

And great that you are here at bowiestation.

The next time I upload a self-made remaster I have to be sure that I have done it properly (what I think I have done so far) as there is now a "professional" to judge it.

Great to meet your acquaintance, Neil.

Not only am I looking forward to your list, but I'm also looking forward to your DVD Audio/Video creations. I've considered for some time now that CD Audio is obsolete, and I think it's time the ROIO community moves on. :)

No, Vinyl is very much alive, though it has been on life support for 30 years.

Wow... the quote function worked.

In any case, this is correct.

Unfortunately, the problem with vinyl is external contaminants.

While we are talking vinyl, a true story:

When I was an apprentice electronics engineer many years ago a customer had a problem with his radio-gram (I did say many years ago), the engineer who received the job asked him to send in an LP that he was having trouble with. It turned out that it was warped. Well we had a little trick to fix that, you got a heavy aluminium platter from one turntable, took the rubber mat off and placed the vinyl on top of it, then placed another platter upside down on top of that. Put it under an angle-poise lamp for a few minutes and 'hey presto' a flat LP again  :)

Unfortunately, I decided to speak to him ... you can probably guess the rest ... it was completely flat on both sides by the time he remembered it - not a spiral groove in sight. Oops  :(

Great story and it proves that LP's are a "lively" medium

Metal Machine Music? Claude did actually make it, sharpening his claws on that blank piece of vinyl. Lou heard it and bought it  B)

Oh I'm not knocking it. We did well out of the royalties - £3.75 from the sales of the LP alone :)
