Hi all,

I would like to know if the classification of the different sources for the same concert on Bowie Station corresponds to a ranking of the quality of the recording.

Source 1 = Best Source (quality sound, complete, etc...)

From torrents that are marked with different sources, it varies which source that is the best.
As for as I know all torrents that have info about if it is source 1 or 2 (or 3 or 4...) have audio samples. If you search for the date like "1983-05-27" (with the "";) you will get a listing of all audios and videos from that date.

On the left of that listing you have samples, and those samples should be of the same tracks and you can easily compare that to pick the sources/versions you prefer. Sometimes the best sounding version might be incomplete and there is another source that is complete, but has worse sound quality.

When I give numbers to the sources I try to give the number 1 to the best source, but that is not always the case. Like the concert 1983-05-27 I first uploaded Source 1 and Chris Nathou uploaded a real upgrade to that later on. When a source get I number on the site, I would like to keep that and not change it to avoid confusion.

Thank you for your answer, it's clearer to me now
It's why "old" torrents from the same shows have no number source.

The plan is to add samples and source info for all torrents, but it takes time.
When I upload new versions/sources of shows I also add samples/source info to existing shows from the same date on BS.

Has become a mess over the years with 1st source on a tracker getting source or version 1
some traders calling the source by the order they got them
so there has really been no real previous structure to it

can remember doing a snail sending source 3 of Auckland serious Moonlight but he already had it as source 1 from someone else so sent him my source 1 & 2 and no source numbers matched and when I got the Wellington shows a couple were Titled so now trying to find them, only have a source number and a few remasters with different titles, people could be sitting on something as there's already the same source number up but theirs is different

Bless the Tapers and Uploaders they make the Music Live
