Just thought I'd share a recent project again here. Originally started this project for a friend to introduce him to Bowie, which I unfortunately never got around to giving him. I had also originally planned two more discs, to expand this collection to 1980, but honestly I really like this as an "early years" 2-disc compilation, definitely inspired by the upcoming Pink Floyd Cre/ation compilation. And this does indeed make a nice little set for the car! Let me know what you think! xxtyler

Great compilation. Of The BBC Sessions I think the very best and one I would have included is the 'Waiting For The Man' from 18th Jan 72, basically the 72 tour version in pristine quality. Is the 'Starman' single mix 2012 the same as the 'Re-call' / 'NHC' version, which has the louder morse code section. That is the version I bought in 72 and is the best one for me.

Yes, due to time constraints "Waiting for the Man" and the exact version you mentioned, had to be ditched. Also more in favor of "White Light" from ZSMP. And yes, that's the same single mix of "Starman" here

Would love to get this one.
WLWH from ZAMP is a bad plan - Ronno completely misses a guitar line and we have a much better version with the Spiders at full tilt in a BBC session.
For the love of god please do NOT use any of the following source material:
1999 EMI Remaster
30th anniversary remaster
40th anniversary remaster - they all suck, badly. Whilst the 30th are perhaps the worst (with Ziggy being channel swapped on both CD) the 40th are not much better - narrow field, indistinct centre, nasal vocals, the godawful "modern" bass heavy remastering on Space Oddity etc.....

Just thinking out loud.
