Looking at the sticker on the CD and the track listing on Amazon it's a 2016 remix of the regular version. Dear oh dear.

Am I missing the point here?  What "new" pieces of music - can't see anything new there at all.

Shabby cash in, but not a bad compilation for the regular music fans who like Bowie.

Don't blame me, I didn't do it!

When does remixing an old track become a must have....this has the potential to live forever, so the future is any old so and so pulling up the mix again, pan a few things here and there, use reverb delay etc raise the vocal track, hey presto ! We have something else we can rake cash in on.
I don't want a 2016 remix of Life on Mars thank you, nor do I want to buy everything else again for the pleasure of the remix.
I give the label/distributors of Legacy a massive thumbs down.

They would make a killing if they simply dig in the Bowie vaults and release the out takes we've all collected of bootlegers for years.
Make it special.

How many  Bowie "Best of" is that now?  Call it what you want  ,  Greatest Hits, Best of , Changesone,  now its Legacy (FFS!) They have the  nerve to even charge full price  on something   all the  recording, photography etc,  etc,  was recouped years ago & then they wonder why some  people download it ?   Still,   just in time for Christmas   for people to pick up in Tesco/sainsburys et al.  Some of us would like to hear  the legacy of outtakes &  leftovers  still  unplundered in the vaults . Why   the remix  of Life on Mars( or any other track for that matter ?  Is it not perfection already FFS? Grant you  Sound & Vision remix for the car ad was good but still not  better than the original . It just highlighted  the brillance of the melody &  the vocal perfomances  IMHO

Bet this is another Visconti cash cow project. He's the no. 1 sell-out in the former Bowie circle.

When are they going to bring out a case and cover editions would be cheaper
don't need or want the cd's
just need it for looks it will just sit on the shelf with the rest of those box sets and compilations which I'll take off all the new undiscovered tracks we're not supposed to of had or remixes and make a compilation for my on listening
that way could just go to i tunes and buy the track

or I could just order one from Hull they come with the discs missing

Does anyone here NOT already have Ken Scott's Musikmagasinet remixes of Life on Mars?

I listened to them once. Once. I mean come on, none of them measure up to the original album version. The Hunky Dory album is perfect as it is, and the only competition for any of the Hunky Dory mixes is the BOWPRO1 promo album. Since they were done at essentially the same time, they both turned out great.

But these decades-later remix attempts are crap.

(The remix of the Station of Station album being the other that doesn't measure up to the original).

(Need I mention FAME90?).

IMO, the ONLY remix that has ever come close to the original is Sonjay Prabhakar's 2013 mix of Sound + Vision - and that was only 1 min 48 seconds long (for a car commercial or something, wasn't it?).

All that said, I am all-for any best-ofs that will arrive in the checkout aisle of Whole Foods, where new people will discover or revisit Bowie's music.

The 2CD version is a damn fine track listing - and it should be, since it is the same track listing as the 2CD version of Nothing Has Changed, with only 2 changes on disc 2.

The 1CD version is ok but wouldn't be the one I'd get someone as a gift.

Though why on earth is "Dancing in the Street" on either version? Someone needs to burn that tape.

Glad only bought 3cd version of Nothing Has Changed can buy this and have 2cd version as well
I'll just get artwork for Nothing has Changed 2 disc set

2 albums for price of one just change cd's to case I want them to be
and hope when I want to listen to Nothing has changed they're not in the Legacy case

next compilation's  Nothing Has CHANGESONEBOWIE  Same Track Listing Just 2017 Remaster

about time we got a new CHANGESONE it's been a few months now

but no CHANGESTWO yet so if they hurry could do a 35yr anniversary special edition just in time for xmas  and call it the forgotten about album

So... Bowie's legacy, how to do it justice? I know! Let's start by practically duplicating part of a recent compilation. But let's add a pointless remix of his arguably most popular track of all. We'll get the guy who originally mixed it to remix it. His ears are now 45 years older than they were for the original mix but hey, some things improve with age [hearing unfortunately not being one of them].
Parlophone - go stick this where the sun don't shine. Ken Scott - shame on you, sir.

I agree with all the above comments. What would happen if we just stopped buying this regurgitated rip off shit, would they start to release real unreleased stuff? I doubt it because there will always be completists.
I'm not bothering buying anymore best ofs and the like, i'll just find other ways to to listen to it; if you know what i mean?

The only good way to build this up is not the teaser videos and the tracklist to be honest. I mean, if the label decides to release the 2016 mix of Life on Mars? on Soundcloud as a sneek peek similar to what happened for few tracks prior to the release of Who Can I Be Now box set, it still depends if it leads a few that are not completists or new fans buying it but I don't know to be honest. Maybe if they release the stems of Life on Mars as a promotional tie-in but hey, we all can dream.
