Morning, evening or afternoon where ever you are.

I've received an e-mail about a new vinyl release called 'Hot n' Spicey' which claims to be a mash up of 2 nights at the Chilli Pepper in Miami, or Fort Lauderdale if you like making it the complete track listing of the second night claiming to make up the complete show and the longest ever which it was I believe. My problem is when you check the track listings there are still songs missing namely 'I Can't Read' & 'Is It Any Wonder' I know back in the day there was supposedly a complete tape of this show which some how got lost [Interplay may know more also DAG 97 and 100PCB who released the CD version].

My dilemma is I don't want to spend money on this if it's not the same show or could make it up my self.
So is there a longer tape of the first night which has 23 songs that could in circulation??

Any thoughts before I purchase this [I probably wont as it it too expensive but...]

Here are the details of the new release.....

During the Earthling tour, on the second of back-to-back nights at the Fort Lauderdole nightelub "The Chill Pepper".
David Bowie decided to perform every different song he and his band had played on that tour.
On Oct. 8th, et"The Chili Pepper" in Ft. Lauderdale.
he decided to turn a supposedly normal gig into a concert lasting 3 hours and a half, his LONGEST EVER!
This unforgettable performance has sadly not been recorded in its entirety, anyway here you find almost the complete set.
obtained adding 4 songs from the first evening to the available recording of the second show.

Thanks Neil, I already have them but the tracks that are not on the 2nd night are not on the first either. Check the track listing on the discography section of the site.

I think I need a chat with interplay as this is his 'Holy Grail' if I remember correctly.

I believe that, as per the usual bootlegger rules, they've just downloaded what we've shared here and mixed it up and edited it around and screwed up the track listing in the process. The tape runs out during Stay, and even before that the taper began conserving tape by stopping between songs. Back around 2011 I looked at all the cut songs and found the closest mixed or performed captures of them and patched them in to make a version for myself and I think I may have shared it with DAG97 and Steveboy, can't remember.

I didn't write where I nicked the missing song parts from but they were mostly USA audience tapes.

By the way, this tape came via Arielle Caron, who listed it on her trade page. She was a big Tori Amos fan and likely the taper was a known in those circles. I've never found her or the original DAT taper ever again. But the show is hot shit as it is, anyway!

I don't think a true full recording exists.  I was lucky enough to have been at both shows.  I do remember thinking I would never see a better concert again in my life.  This still holds true 25+ years later, although I am thankful I did get to see Bowie perform a few more times live.

Bowie knew he was going to do a longer show as he came out earlier then the prior night and joked about it.  I'm not sure he knew he was going to keep going though or just decided to just for the hell of it as the show went on.  He did end up doing EVERY song on the tour except one (which he did during the sound check).  My guess is he lost track of the songs and just forgot to do it.  Did Bowie record all of his shows?  This would certainly be the one to release.

ps- I looked at my watch as I left the small venue of the Chili Pepper and it was 3 hours 45 mins long this show, very surreal before the show at the surprise signing as well.  Unbelievable and...

He was drinking these little bottles of something to help with his voice.  He sounded great (as he always did) because his performances were always the best regardless of whether he could hit every note.
