There are some confusion of the recordings of Frejus 83 with the dates being mixed up.

Both versions currently on site are from the same night, but different sources.

I have a probably 3rd source for that concert where the announcer is included and he mention the word "Premiere". Does this mean that this is the first concert in Frejus?

I do no not speak, so if any french speaker can check out this clip to listen if the date can be identified by the announcer:

Ok, no, he only says "for the first time since five years" which spells in french "pour la première fois depuis cinq ans"...
The best Frejus 83 in term of quality is in fact the 27th, the version from the "Serious Moonlight 83" bootleg being from the 26th.
The "Merci Beaucoup" bootleg is from the 27th and the master version so-called from the 26th is in fact from the 27th too ! Listen, the band intro is identical...

Back in 1985, the 26th version which was sold to me by a french collector is the same that features on the "Serious Moonlight 83" vynil bootleg, where the cover mentions recorded on May, 26th 1983. :P

I asked 38f on Dime about the recording, and he replied that he only went to one of the Frejus concerts, and his ticket for the concert is the 26th.

I think the correct is:

26th:
- 38f master
- Merci Beaucoup
- 3rd source that will be uploaded

27th:
- Serious Moonlight 83
- Tape rip that will be uploaded (not great quality)

I'd say that sample's from the 27th.  Just checking out an MP3 I've got of the 26th, and the introduction is clear throughout.  On this sample, whichever Simms brother's voice cracks a bit during "David"...

38f confirmed that he only went to one Frejus concert in 83 and that he had the ticket from the 26th. This is the same concert as the "Merci Beaucoup" and the 3rd source I'm preparing for upload.

At the end of the band intros Bowie says:  "Don't break it, it is the only one we got"

I will also upload a speed corrected version of the 38f master with some tiny edits (some silence and maybe a total of 10s of crowd noise removed to tidy up tape flips and stops).

As I see it, the only proof of a date is 38f confirming the date of his recording. Dates on bootlegs are less reliable than Wikipedia :)

The intro put in excerpt isn't from the 27th according to JanErik for the intro I have from the 'Serious Moonlight 83' LP is different which is now said to be from the 27th (if you can follow my thoughts...

So... It must be from the 26th, belonging to the shows that don't feature the intro, as the master and the 'Merci Beaucoup' versions.
Concerning the video, I have never seen it nor heard about it anywhere except in "The Concert Tapes" book...

@ steve23yh,

I have seen photos on the net from the 26th in which Bowie wears the electric blue costume, so the 27th he must wear the beige one with white shirt and orange tie with black stripes.
That may help...? :D

The VHS quality is somewhat lacking on my copy, say 3rd gen(?) shot from a single camera, remember we are talking 1983 VHS separate camera & recorder, it runs to about 55 min or so.

I can't understand why this is so wrong, I first got my tapes in 1983 from a reliable source, and a couple of years later another version of both nights from a French Bowie fan along with the Lyon shows.
I'm still not 100% sure.

As you know I have the HG Tapes and even the 27th copies in there are 'allegedly' the 26th.
